Welcome to Karimba Lodge - Your Home of Serenity and elegance

Located in the tranquil outskirts of Meru Town in Meru County, Karimba Lodge and Restaurant symbolizes simple country comforts, combining the allure of rustic living with all the conveniences of modern life.

It offers great opportunities for both the leisure traveller seeking to explore the breath-taking mountains, national parks, game reserves and cultural establishments that are just a stone’s throw away, and the business traveller looking for a quiet hideaway that is just far enough from the madding crowd, yet near enough to the bustling Meru town.

For the family that’s seeking a home away from home for that special weekend outing, you now have a place you can call your own.

While our rooms are designed and furnished to pamper you with the essential homely comforts, the gardens are an enthralling festival of shrubs and flowers, all set to give you a befitting backdrop to the memories you want carry with you for ever. A kaleidoscope of butterflies feels right at home in our magnificent lawns, and so should you too as you sip your favourite drink.

Karimba lodge is situated just 11 kilometres from Meru town on the Meru-Nchiru-Maua Road, sandwitched between the Kenya Methodist University and Meru Univeristy of Science and Technology; 58 kilometres from Meru National Park’s Murera Gate and 6 kilometres from Nchiru, the history-drenched headquarters of the Njuri-Ncheke Council of Elders, one of the most important historical and cultural pillars of the Meru community.

A stone’s throw from Paradise

Meru National Park and its sister, Kora National Park, offer that enthralling wilderness ambiance that is absolutely unequalled - utterly unspoilt, they are among the most geographically diverse parks in Kenya. These sister parks feature luxuriant jungle, coursing rivers, verdant swamps, khaki grasslands, gaunt termite cathedrals and an ever-evolving dance between clouds and sky.

At this 870 square-kilometer marvel, visitors can see Grevy’s zebras, elephants, Bohor reedbucks, hartebeests, pythons, buffalos and more than 427 recorded species of birds. You are also near the wondrous Samburu with three unique wildlife havens - the Shaba, the Samburu and the Buffalo Springs national reserves, which form a large protected area offering you everything you would want from a jungle experience.

The iconic Mt Kenya is also round the corner, with endless activities ranging from high-altitude mountaineering to picnics in some of the most idyllic settings on earth. We will provide unbeatable prices and unequalled comforts for your excursions to these and many other places, using tour and travel partners who have unparalleled knowledge of the spectacular sites.
